Installation of plastic ducts as part of a gas scrubbing system, specifically for the removal of acidic vapours.
Characteristics
The ducts were manufactured in a wide range of diameters, the main sizes being Ø2400 and Ø1000.
The main Ø2400 ducts had Ø1650 inserts for connecting to the scrubbers.
PH Technology was responsible for the design and manufacture of the ducts and their assembly on site.
Operating Conditions
The duct system was designed for a temperature of 40ºC and an external (vacuum) pressure of 250mm.c.a.
The operating fluid is acidic gas.
Material
The duct system was of dual composition, with a PP-H liner and an isophthalic polyester resin based FRP structural reinforcement.
