Application
The manufacture, assembly and testing of two separate fire protection rings installed in the combined cycle power plants at Port de Barcelona (owned by Gas Natural) and Besós V (owned by Endesa).
Characteristics
These underground installations have a principal diameter of Ø315, and a total length of approximately 1800 m. each.
The templates for the manholes giving access to the various valves were manufactured in the workshop, in order to shorten lead times on site.
The joints were made by heat fusion welding.
Operating Conditions
The design pressure for the system was fixed at 12 bar.
On the basis of the client’s specifications, the hydraulic testing of the whole system was carried out to a pressure of 18 bar.
Material
The whole installation was manufactured from PE100 material.
