Application
Manufacture of sections pf pipework in PE100 for the installation of syphons under the new Madrid-Lisbon AVE line.
Characteristics
Five syphons were constructed to carry irrigation water from one side of the line to the other, consisting of PE piping inside a concrete sleeve. The diameters used were Ø1400, Ø1200 and Ø710 in a total of approximately 450m of pipe.
The joints were made using a thermofuson welding process.
Two welding machines were used, with maximum capacities of Ø1600 and Ø1200 respectively.
Operating Conditions
The installation operates by gravity.
PE100 material was chosen in order to ensure a perfect seal at the joints between the sections of pipe and avoid the risk of leakage.
Material
The material used in the manufacture of the syphons was PE100 SDR26.
