\nThis was an especially critical application due to the corrossiveness of the medium.

\nCharacteristics<\/strong>
\nThe effluent tank was horizontal, \u00d82400 in diameter, and had a total capacity of 20m3.
\nThe hypochlorite decomposer was a vertical tank of \u00d81200 diameter, with a total capacity of 2m3.
\nPH Technology<\/strong><\/span> was responsible for both the design and manufacture of the equipment.<\/p>\n

Operating Conditions<\/strong>
\nThe most critical condition for this equipment was the operating fluid.
\nIn the case of the effluent tank this was a solution of sodium hypochlorite and organic solvents.
\nIn the case of the hypochlorite decomposer it was HCl + NaCl + Cl2.
\nThe design pressure was fixed at at 0.5 bar in both cases. The operating temperature was 60\u00baC for the effluent tank, and 100\u00baC for the decomposer.

\nBoth pieces of equipment were of dual composition construction, with a liner of ECTFE (Halar, a fluorinated thermoplastic) and a novolac vinylester epoxy resin based FRP structural reinforcement.<\/p>\n
