A complete piping system for transferring and processing uranium ore in suspension at a uranium mine.

The complete installation comprised about 60,000m of polyethylene PE-HD piping, in a range of diameters between DN500 and DN25, with both buried and aerial sections.
PH Technology was responsible for the supply and assembly of the piping system, including supporting structures, and for the manufacture of the floating pontoons on the reservoirs.
Operating Conditions
The maximum operating pressure was 10 bar, and the maximum temperature 40ºC.
The operating fluid was uranium ore suspended in sulphuric acid, and its abrasive character was an important restriction on the design of the system.
Material
The material for the pipes was polyethylene PE-HD.
